APPLICATION

A cordless impact driver is commonly used to drive in a large quantity of fasteners, longer screws and lag bolts. Like the cordless drill, an impact driver uses rotational force to drive a screw and saves its bursts of quick power when it feels resistance. You would use an impact driver for long screws or large fasteners when working with wood. An impact driver is also lighter than the hammer drill, making it easier to handle.

Cordless Impact Wrench and Driver: The Ultimate FAQ Guide

What is a cordless impact driver used for?

Impact drivers are more commonly used to drive in a large quantity of fasteners, longer screws and lag bolts. Long screws and, with the use of an adapter, lag bolts can be driven in more easily by an impact driver.Like the cordless drill, an impact driver uses rotational force to drive a screw and saves its bursts of quick power when it feels resistance.. An impact driver is also lighter than the hammer drill, making it easier to handle.

Is an impact driver better than a cordless drill?

The impact driver is much stronger than a drill in terms of the way it can deliver that extra torque to break loose stuck bolts and screws or drive them deeper into the material.

Can you use an impact driver as a wrench?

No, not when you understand how impact wrenches work in the real world. They don't just rotate, but rather they rotate in a powerful pulsed way, imparting a kind of vibration to the rotation. This makes impact wrenches much better suited to removing seized nuts and bolts than any hand wrench.

IMPACT DRIVER VS IMPACT WRENCH DRIVE STYLES

One of the key differences between these impact tools is the drive style. Impact drivers use a 1/4-inch hex collet that accepts 1/4-inch hex shank bits. Impact wrenches typically use a square drive that you attach a socket to. There are also 7/16-inch hex impact wrenches that utility workers often carry.

What bits fit in an impact driver?

The impact driver, unlike the drill, has a collet versus a keyless chuck. It only accepts 1/4 inch hex-shanked bits. This feature makes the bit easy to install and remove, by simply pushing in on the collect forward to insert or release the bit.

Do impact drivers need special bits?

The answer is no. As explained, regular drill bits are not designed to withstand the stress of the torque an impact driver outputs. As a result, if stress-tested, regular drill bits with hex ends placed in impact drivers can easily snap which could also break the impact driver itself.

What is the difference between a 1/4 and 1/2 impact driver?

Impact drivers will make short work of lag bolts or lag screws, up to an extent. A driver with a 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch bit can be the better choice for smaller screws. A 1/2 inch impact driver or an impact wrench may actually deliver too much torque that the screws or bolts are quickly stripped, or worse, snapped.

Can Impact Drivers be used for Concrete, Brick, and Cement?

You can use an impact driver to drill into brick, masonry, and hard stone material, as long as you have the right hex shank drill bits to do the job.Put one of these hex shank bits into your 1/4 inch impact driver and you can drill through concrete and cement, although it will take you some time. That said, hammer drills, combi drills, or rotary hammers are still the best tools for drilling holes in concrete or masonry – but you can drill a few holes just fine with an impact driver in a pinch.

How the Impact Driver for Drywall?

Precise control of the impact driver is needed if you want to use it for drywall purposes.

An impact driver can make for a rather effective drywall screw gun if you have the skill for it. Impact drivers are designed to deliver massive amounts of torque to force screws or fasteners into or out of tough materials. A cordless 12 volt model with speed control will let you drive screws at just the right depth, without tearing the paper layer.

How about Impact Drivers for Framing?

Impact drivers are incredibly useful for steel framing, where you may have to screw in hundreds of attachments along the course of a project. Granted, the same can be done with a regular drill or power screwdriver. For working overhead with light gauge steel framing, most professionals prefer to use a compact cordless impact driver.

When time is of the essence, though, the torque supplied by an impact driver will do the job a lot faster, and with less wear and fatigue on the operator as well.

How about Impact Drivers for General Wood Based Projects?

Impact drivers can drive fasteners into wood, often without the need for pre-drilling pilot holes. While regular drills or power screwdrivers may have difficulty pushing through dense hardwood or treated lumber, an impact driver will happily drive in screws all day long.

A 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch impact driver is plenty for dealing with wood and wood fasteners.

You can also use an impact driver to drill cleaner holes than you can get with a regular drill. The secret is in the spade bit, which can be tricky to use with a regular drill. With an impact driver, there is no risk of kickback should the spade bit meet resistance or binds into the material.

The internal mechanisms of an impact driver divert the torque from the handle of the tool, which makes them unlikely to kick back and injure the operator.

Brushed vs. Brushless, how to choose?

Due to friction produced in its operation, a brushed motor is slightly less efficient than its brushless counterpart. Brushless motors operate without friction, leading to a number of benefits: more power going to the tool, precision motor and power control, more battery run time, less heat generated during use and a longer-life battery. Brushless tools also require less maintenance. Due to the friction produced by contact, the parts in a brushed tool may occasionally need to be replaced. However, these advances in brushless technology come at a higher cost.

If your tools will get heavy and regular usage, investing in brushless may be a great value in the long run, but if you only break out your tool box for occasional household and DIY projects, brushed tools can serve you well and save you upfront costs.

What About Cordless Impact Wrench/ Driver Price?

Price is changeable for different demand, different configurations, like one battery or 2 batteries, Chinese batteries or big brands batteries. Normally it ranges from USD 50 to USD 100.

How to choose a suitable cordless impact wrench/driver?

You can purchase the item according to real using demand and request. Please let us know the voltage and plug type in your area, we need this to adjust the plug and cord of the charger , like 230V/50HZ , VDE plug in most EU countries.

How can we guarantee the quality of our cordless impact wrench/ driver?
